Szczecin, Poland’s most expensive city

In the onet.pl business report, published on November 25th, 2012, the monthly cost of services for citizens living in 13 Polish citizens was calculated on the assumption that they purchased a monthly ticket for public transport in the city, used 4 cubic meters of water, produced the same amount of sewage, and consumed 3 GJ’s of heat.

The monthly cost of services for citizens in a number of Polish cities is as follows:

1. Szczecin 306.69 PLN

2. Poznań 293.09

3. Katowice 292.41

4. Gdańsk 291.19

10. Kraków 255.77

12. Warsaw 248.88

The question Szczecinians would like answered, is why is their city, in terms of services, the most expensive in Poland?

Has anyone any sensible answers?
