The condemnation, posted on 18 August, read:

“Sailors from the ‘Cuauhtemoc’ who sailed to Gdynia after the tall ships’ race, were attacked there by hooligans from Chorzów. We lack the proper words to describe such behaviour: you are great and we would not want a few hundred idiots to destroy our good relations. Keep your heads up! Come back safely to Szczecin.”

Further condemnation, posted the following day, was also withdrawn.

Has the city of Szczecin now changed its opinion of the events, and which side was responsible for the ‘battle on the beach’?
