Unveiling a plaque to famous Szczecin industrialist, Emil Stoewer


On 23 August, 2013, a plaque was unveiled on 32 ul Wielkopolska to Emil Stoewer, who resided there between 1907 – 1917.

The plaque was unveiled by the industrialists grandaughter, Jutta Barckmann from Hamburg.

Emil Stoewer’s factory produced typewriters, sewing machines and then (from 1899) motor cars. After the Second World War, the factory was used to produce motorcycles and then automobile parts under the name ‘Polmo’. The former Polmo building, now disused, still stands on al Wojska Polskiego.
